Coping with Death Guide!
Coping with Death!
(Guide by Roman)
Ah, it is truly a depressing matter. Wether you die in style, die due to lag issues, or you die by your friend, it will have an effect on you. In the lower levels (around 1-30), death is not a big issue for people, and can be easily forgotten. But for those 30+, especially 60-80+, death can really have a major effect in the losses of skills, equipment, experience, and overall hours wasted. Now, if you are reading this, you: 1) Died 2) Going to die 3) Unsure!

Well death is common, infact it is more than common. No matter how you feel about it, you are going to face death in Tibia one time or another, so start planning because it will be infront of you soon. Even though it can lead to big issues such as quitting/retiring or simply giving up on the game, it should not be taken so seriously because it is merely a temporary effect. In general thought, death in Tibia can be merely a gameplay aspect, but for some, a tragic experience. This is because you start to think: "I cannot believe I wasted that much time getting this and losing it". Well it deserves to be considered serious, because even though this is a game, we put time into it, right? And time is precious, time is money. Time is all over our lives everyday!
Procedure:
Alright, so here are the steps you can focus on when you face death in Tibia!
- If you just died, you simply need to relax. Don't think about how it happened, what mistakes you've made, what losses are among you. Simply click cancel, not relog. Click cancel and don't get on for another minute or so, that one minute will not change much for you, don't worry.
- When you cool off, the most important thing that will pop into your head is getting your loot back (that is if you did not wear an AOL). It can be risky and time consuming if you decide to go get it yourself, so the best thing to do would be to ask your friend, guild mate, or high level near the hunting ground to help you.
- When you got your loot and such, you now need to go out of the hunting ground and back to PZ, whether it is your house or bank
- Evaluate your losses, it is important, you need to plan out your next steps. Take a look at percenteges, the statistics, and the experience points. If you are close to getting level (lower than 50-40%), you can attempt and get it, but very slowly. If you are close to getting magic level (lower than 20-10%), you can easily mana sit and cool off.
- If you decide to get some of your losses back, keep in mind it is best recommended to log off. Log off for an hour, for the day, for a week. It does not matter. Forget about it, and simply focus on real life for now.
- When you are back, work on recieving all your losses back. The good part is, once you do and once you go higher than before, you will feel a sense of accomplishment and fullfillment, which is great!
- You are now fully recovered. Stay safe brave warrior and good luck in the future!
Tips:
- Tibian death is surely to stay, Cipsoft may be planning death penalty re-evalutation, but it is part of Tibia!
- You will face it sooner or later!
- Don't blame others for it!
- If you've joined a war, you need to keep in mind that you are risking your character and there is a high chance you will die, you should not be complaining about this, to anyone!
