Guide: Become a master trader!

Should always be done in a safe area, such as a protection zone. Depots are recommended.

Procedure:

There are a few methods that players use to sell, buy and trade items in Tibia, here are some of the popular/main ones:

A method that involved the two players to agreeing to trade by dropping items on the floor at the same time, one at a time, one behind self (running towards items) anywhere on the ground or on a desk/table (old trading method used in older Tibia)
This method is the most unsafe you can do, should never be done even if you are trading with friends/trusted people because others around you may always take your items.
If items are stolen you have a choice of asking nicely for the item(s) or if you are in a non-protection zone, you may try and scare the other player by attacking him.

A very common method among scammers because it allows them to quickly run away with their loot without any risk.
Should only be done with friends, not anyone else, and don't even do it with higher levels because they may act with authority and power to you saying you can trust them, but they turn out to send you something less just to make a little fun of you.
Involves players agreeing to trade with parcels being sent. Because they cannot be sent at the exact same time, players often agree to let others send first.
If you are using this method, and the other player sends the items to you first, be nice and send the trade back.
Also an unsafe/unstable method.

Combination of both the parcel and using the bank transfer feature but acts the same as a parcel trade (money being sent or transferred and item being parceled).
This method acts the exact same way as the parcel trade and should not be done unless trusting other players.
If you do transfer money, read the guide in the General Guides page to understand how to work the feature at the bank and make sure you transfer the right amount to the right player.
Quite uncommon as parcels can do the same quicker in some situations.

This trade is exactly as it sounds. Its safe, but it is not completely safe because scams can also be done. Here is how to do it properly.

After successfully making an agreement with the other player, make sure you organize and time your travel (if necessary) perfectly and nicely. Be nice and kind, don't act angry.
Once you arrive in the correct city, ask the player where to meet. The answer should usually be the depot, the temple, or a house (don't do in other places).
Once you meet with the player, right click the item you want to trade, select "Trade with..." and then select the player. If you are trading more than one item, make sure to place it in a container such as a backpack, bag, or parcel.
A small window will now appear at the side. Be patient and wait for the player to receive the trade request and trade the item on you.
If both players offer items, MAKE SURE that they are are the correct items/correct amount of money. A lot of the scamming may occur here, make sure to right click the item and press "Look" to read the description. Don't be fooled by the image. This is especially true for rings, amulets that come with periods/charges.
Once you are done, thank the player and leave.

Probably one of the least popular methods.
Involves sending the item to a trusted person such as a friend or guild member in a parcel and telling them to trade the item to a player in their city.
It is simply being done to save time and money on travel.

Tips:

Although safe trade is not entirely safe, it is the most recommended way to trade with strangers.
If someone asks you to parcel first, it will usually be a scam. Simply say goodbye.
Your last resort should be only trading person via person. If that's not possible, you may try the parcel/transfer trade but it is not recommended.
